Section 2 of the conditions of contract describes what the Contractor is to show in his plan both in the core clauses and some additional requirements in each of the main Options. The extent of the Contractor’s plan will depend on whether the Contractor is required to develop a plan in accordance with the Employer’s broad outline of the service or whether the Employer has provided a plan for the Contractor to follow. Read the TSC3 Guidance Notes pages 21 and 22 for more information on the Contractor’s plan. Use this section to describe any particulars which must be taken into account by the Contractor in developing his plan as required by clause 21.2. For example information about the order and timing or method of carrying out particular items of work. List technical reporting and scheduling requirements which are to be incorporated into the Contractor’s plan.

Interpretation and terminology. For the purpose of interpreting this Service Information the following terminology shall apply: The term ‘service’, like all italicised terms used in the NEC3 Term Service Contract (June 2005), is identified in the Contract Data and is the title given to the overall scope of service in this contract. For this contract service is identified as the Kusile power station sootbloower maintenance service. Activities to be undertaken by the Contractor in performing the service are generally referred to as ‘items of work’. For this contract, secondary Option X19 of the NEC3 Term Service Contract (June 2005) has been selected which allows for work to be instructed by Task Order. A Task is defined as work within the service which the Service Manager may instruct the Contractor to carry out through Site Service Managers within a stated period of time. Tasks are identified at each power station for example, within outages, regular site maintenance, and other ad hoc work or project. Each Task Order will contain a priced list of items of work within the Task. Where the word ‘service’ is not italicised, it shall be given its common meaning. The terms ‘site’ or ‘power station site’ used in this Service Information means the area used by the Employer for the purpose of owning and operating the power stations. It must not be confused with the term Site used in other NEC contracts. The Affected Property identified in the Contract Data for this contract is an area or facility within these sites but it is not the whole of the site.

Interpretation and terminology. The following abbreviations and terminology are used in this Service Information: NDT Non - destructive testing GO General overhaul KPI Key performance Indicators QCP Quality Control plan MGO Mini General overhaul SSM Site services manager QIP Quality Inspection Plan 2.1 The Contractor’s plan for the service 2.1.1 The Contractor submits a program for acceptance by the Service Manager prior to commencing with the work. The program will be updated on a weekly basis. 2.2.2 The program is in MS Project or PRIMAVERA and shall include the following:  The hour duration of each activity,  The working calendar (number of work-hours per day, days per week),  The exact quantity of people per day,  All phases and interfaces 2.2.3 The Contractor’s program activities must fit in with the interface activities of other contractors, and must be indicated. These interfaces are activities such as scaffolding, lagging, electrical and instrumentation work. 2.2.4 Activities will only be recorded as complete when the quality inspection plan for the activity is returned to the employer’s representative with all the relevant signatures, including that of the quality controller. 2.2.5 The frequency of updating is listed on the task order.
