Barricading. Creating a further barrier to a classroom or office that would obstruct the entry of an intruder, should the locked door be compromised. Barricading can be done by a number of means, including but not limited to adding a secondary locking mechanism or blocking the doorway with a large moveable object or with multiple smaller moveable objects. The barricade should be capable of being removed to allow exit from the room once the lockdown incident has been resolved.

Environmental constraints and management It should be noted that Xxxxx Power Station is ISO14001:2015 certified and therefore promotes Integrated Environmental Management (IEM) philosophy as well as risk-based thinking which aims to achieve a desirable balance between conservation and development. All activities taking place within Xxxxx Power Station must consider section 28 of the National Environmental Management Act (107 of 1998) which makes provision for the duty of care approach. The contractor’s team must commit to review and to continually improve environmental management with the objective of improving overall environmental performance. The Contractor must consult with Xxxxx Environmental section on a regular basis for on-going assistance and advice. Environmental requirements The Contractor ensures that all goods, services or works supplied in terms of the Contract comply with all applicable environmental legislation. Xxxxx Power Station Environmental Policy must be adhered to as a minimum. Refuse disposal The Contractor is responsible to keep the work area clean of any waste. All waste introduced and/or produced on the Employer’s premises by the Contractor for this contract, is handled in accordance with the Waste Classification and Management Regulations in terms of Government Legislation as proclaimed by the NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT: XXXXX XXX, 0000 The removal of any hazardous waste is the responsibility of the Contractor. The Contractor shall comply with the environmental criteria and constraints as per the Eskom Rules and Regulations. The service provider shall comply to, but not limited to, all relevant legal and other requirements including the Xxxxx Power Station EMS, National Environmental Management Act (Act 107 of 1998) as amended and ISO 14001: 2015. The Contractor shall comply with the environmental criteria and constraints. Workers are made aware of this fact and the Radiographic technicians ensure that no person is within or enter the danger area prior to commencing of or during the tests by public announcement according to the procedure. See relevant procedure PA/272/001. Scaffolding All scaffolding erected complies with procedure PS/031/001. At least one person in the Contractor’s service shall be competent to inspect scaffolding in the case where the Contractor himself needs scaffolding. Certificates must be handed in at the Project Manager after contract award. The Contractor is responsible for the supply, erection and dismantling of its scaffolding.

Barricading. All barricading shall be of the rigid type unless the use of non-rigid barricading has been approved in writing by the Department of Public Works Project Manager. The contractors’ barricading standard shall be included in the Health and Safety Plan. Where more than one contractor is working on a site, the fixed barricading shall be clearly marked with the company's name, site contact person as well as the contact number/s.
