Common use of Holiday Pay Qualifiers Clause in Contracts

Holiday Pay Qualifiers. In order to qualify for pay for a holiday, an employee shall complete his full scheduled shift on each of the working days immediately preceding and following the holiday concerned unless excused by the Hospital or the employee was absent due to: (a) legitimate illness or accident which commenced within a month of the date of the holiday; (b) vacation granted by the Hospital; (c) the employee's regular scheduled day off; (d) a paid leave of absence provided the employee is not otherwise compensated for the holiday. An employee entitled to holiday pay hereunder shall not receive sick leave pay to which she may otherwise have been entitled.
