Horizontal Salary Schedule Movement. All hours leading to horizontal advancement on the salary schedule must be approved by the superintendent. The criteria for approval of college credits will be improvement of the teacher's professional knowledge or skill and the needs of the organization. To be eligible for horizontal movement on the salary schedule, credits must be certified in the central office by October 1 of each year. Only hours earned after the awarding date of a M.S. degree will be applied to horizontal movement in conjunction with the M.S. +. Hours earned prior to that will be applied to the B.S. + factor. Individual Development Plan (IDP) Points for Salary Schedule Advancement Teachers may earn IDP points to advance on the salary schedule according to the guidelines approved in the district’s five-year staff development plan.
