hour. If an employee who is entitled to a meal under the provisions of this Article upon dismissal from work does not accept such meal the employee shall nevertheless be entitled to such time allowance of one and one-half (1½) hours. If an employee who is entitled to a meal under the provisions of this Article does not accept such meal, the employee shall nevertheless be entitled to such time allowance of one-half (½) hour for each meal missed except for a meal due at the end of the work period. The City’s cost for any meal required by the provisions of this Article between the employee’s regular shift normal ending time and five (5) hours later shall be limited to twenty five dollars ($25.00) including tax and tip. (The City standard for tipping is currently capped at fifteen percent (15%) unless the contracted vendor requires a twenty percent (20%) tip due to the size of the dining party). The tip may be rounded up to the next highest dollar. The City’s cost for meals provided at all other times shall be limited to fifteen dollars ($15.00) including tax and tip, except for out-of-town travel for meetings, conferences, or training, which shall be paid at the same rate as for Unrepresented employees (as set forth in the City of Xxxxxxx Employee Benefit Policies for unrepresented employees – Article 12: Expenses, Section 12.3, paragraph (C)). Any cost incurred by an individual employee above those set forth above shall be at the employee’s own expense and shall be paid by the employee to the vendor at the time the employee consumes the meal. Employees unable to purchase the required meal at a City contracted vendor after 12:00 a.m. due to lack of vendor availability shall be eligible to submit a receipt for out-of-pocket meal expense reimbursement by separate check. The reimbursement will be subject to the amounts outlined above, and the meal must have been provided by a vendor located in the Redding area.
