Extra Hours. For the purpose of Clause 20.13, extra hours means any hours available to be worked in excess of an employee’s regular schedule. The Corporation shall determine the extra hours it requires in each circumstance, and offer such hours to employees working in that Post Office in accordance with the provisions of this Clause. (a) On each occasion that extra hours are to be worked, opportunities to work the extra hours are to be offered to employees who notify the Postmaster beforehand of their availability, on the basis of the first opportunity to the employee who works the greatest number of regularly scheduled hours per week, last opportunity to the employee who works the least number of regularly scheduled hours per week. (b) Where two (2) or more employees are working the same number of hours per week, the opportunity shall be first offered to the employee with the longest continuous employment in that Post Office save that an employee who was formerly full-time and whose hours were reduced in accordance with Clause 12.05(a)(i) shall have priority. (i) In the application of this Clause, it is understood that a Part-Time Assistant shall be granted an opportunity to work extra hours provided that the extra hours do not conflict with her regular schedule, and provided she does not work more than eight (8) hours per day, or forty (40) hours per week. (ii) Subject to Clause 20.13(c)(i) the Part-Time Assistant who is granted the first opportunity to work extra hours should, while the opportunity lasts, end up working a total number of hours that is not less than the total number of hours worked by the Part-Time Assistant who accepts the second opportunity, and so on for each subsequent opportunity granted. (d) Where all the extra hours to be worked cannot be covered by application of the principle expressed in (a), employees may be assigned to work the extra hours that cannot be covered, and/or those hours may be covered by other means. (e) Application of this Clause entails no obligation on the part of the Corporation for equal distribution of extra hours.

Extra Hours. (1) The staff member shall be obliged to work extra hours (overtime) ordered by the University unless this would be in conflict with interests of the staff members that are worth taking into account. Part-time staff may only be asked to work extra hours of up to 10% of the working time agreed pursuant to Article 34(2), save for extraordinary cases (Section 20 AZG) or unless agreed otherwise. Such a deviating agreement shall only be effective if the staff member was provably granted an opportunity to ask the Works Council for advice in this respect prior to conclusion of the agreement. (2) Extra hours means hours worked in addition to the contractually agreed working time which do not exceed the normal working time regulated in Article 34 or a fixed daily working time. Overtime means that the normal working time regulated in Article 34 or a fixed daily working time is exceeded. In the case of flexible working hours only those hours which exceed the daily target working time (Section 4b para 3 item 4 AZG) shall be deemed overtime. If overtime is ordered only after the end of the target working time, only the hours worked in addition to the work already accomplished shall be deemed overtime. (3) Only in extraordinary cases may staff members work overtime without express instruction. The staff member shall be obliged to report such overtime to his direct superior in writing without delay. The report shall state the reasons why overtime was necessary and the reasons why it was not possible to obtain prior approval of the overtime work. The need for overtime work must be confirmed by the direct superior within three working days. (4) The staff member shall be obliged to record the extra hours or overtime work according to the University's instructions. If overtime is ordered which exceeds the amount covered by the lump-sum payment for overtime, the staff member shall draw the attention of the superior who ordered the overtime to that fact. (5) When overtime is ordered it has to be taken into account that the staff member will be able to observe the statutory rest period between the end of the daily working time and before s/he commences work on the next day.
Extra Hours. All authorized work performed in excess of the employee’s 25 regular work day or work year shall be paid at the regular rate of pay, unless in 26 conflict with the applicable supplemental contract. Employees shall receive 27 payment for extra hours worked according to Article 10.05(1)(e).
Extra Hours. Coverage of extra work that may be required will be assigned by the Employer in the most economical and efficient manner possible. The Employer will have extra work performed at straight time rates wherever possible, by first offering them to casual and then part time employees within the classification who have previously indicated their desire for extra hours, pursuant to clause 11.04 (c).

Extra Hours. (a) Any additional hours beyond base hours shall be offered in a fair and impartial manner among "A" list part-time employees in the classification and in the geographical location in which the additional hours are required. Each zone, each bureau and One Yonge Street shall be considered separate geographical locations. A part-time employee who is scheduled to work, (under the terms of Article 7) additional hours beyond the base hours and who does not work those hours due to sickness, shall be paid for such hours under the application of the Sick Leave provisions under Article 13 and Clause (2405). (b) It is also understood that in the event of an emergency, such as late newspaper distribution, employees working on shift at that time shall be asked to work the available extra hours. (c) The Employer shall keep up-to- date records of all hours worked or offered beyond base hours and shall post such records on a quarterly basis. If any employee is offered extra hours but refuses or is unavailable or unreachable, such hours shall be recorded as offered for the purposes of extra hours. An employee who is off on leave or on Short Term or Long Term Disability shall not be offered extra hours.

Extra Hours. The Hospital shall post a sign-up sheet prior to the posting of the work schedule whereby employees may indicate availability for specific extra shifts within their classification. Extra shifts shall be granted on a seniority basis first to employees for whom the extra shift would be on a non-overtime basis and then by seniority to employees for whom the extra shift would be overtime. Extra shifts shall be granted as provided in this Section before using temporary employees of outside employment agencies. A confirmed extra shift is one that has been offered and accepted. An indication of availability is not a confirmation of an extra shift. Individual hospitals shall meet with the Union to develop a policy that provides for the consistent application of this section including short-notice need.
Extra Hours. Part-time employees who indicate in writing to the Employer that they wish to work additional hours, shall be offered such work providing they are able to perform the required duties. Such additional hours shall be offered first to employees working in the house in question, based upon seniority. It is further understood that such additional hours shall be offered only to the extent that they will not incur any overtime costs to the Employer.
Extra Hours. Employees working less than full-time who are willing and capable shall be given the first opportunity on the basis of seniority within the Employee's department, school or classification as the case may be for extra hours when work becomes available on a short term basis, provided the extra hours do not conflict with their regularly appointed position. Any increase in hours shall be in quarter (1/4) hour increments.
