Common use of Hours Reduction Clause in Contracts

Hours Reduction. If a reduction in assigned hours of work is determined by the Employer to be necessary, the Employer will first ask for volunteers from the department or unit and shift where changes are needed. When involuntary reductions are needed, the Employer will reduce the hours of the least senior person in the department or unit and shift, subject to patient care needs, staffing considerations and hours of operation. An employee who is assigned to a .50 or more FTE status whose hours are involuntarily reduced more than .25 FTE shall have the following options:
