A housing allowance clause specifies the terms under which an employer provides financial support to an employee for housing expenses. Typically, this clause outlines the amount or percentage of rent covered, the duration of the allowance, and any conditions or documentation required for reimbursement. Its core practical function is to help employees offset the cost of housing, particularly when relocating for work or living in high-cost areas, thereby making employment terms more attractive and supporting workforce mobility.
