If Worked. All hours worked on a Holiday during the regular work period shall be paid In addition, the employee shall receive a holiday allowance which shall equal eight (8) hours pay at straight time. Notwithstanding the above, an employee absent on leave for Union Business shall receive their holiday allowance for any holiday falling dur- ing such leave of absence (excluding leaves of absence in excess of cal- endar days). When a Holiday falls during a day employee's vacation, the employee will be given the Holiday with pay on the day immediately preceding or immediately following the employee's vacation. When a Holiday falls during a shift employee’s vacation, the employee will be paid their holiday allowance in addition to their vacation pay.
