UNION COMMITTEES AND STEWARDS. 5.01 The Company recognizes the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select from amongst those full time employees, who have completed three (3) months of employment, and who are covered by this Agreement, two (2) stewards, whose responsibility shall be to assist employees in preparing and presenting grievances in accordance with the grievance procedure.
5.02 The Union will forthwith after execution of this Agreement, supply the Company with the list, in writing, of the stewards, appointed by the Union or its membership and employed by the company, and the Company shall rely upon such list and deal with the persons therein named until a further list in writing, is from time to time, supplied by the Union. The Company recognizes that the function of the xxxxxxx is to investigate grievances and to present grievances as provided for in this Agreement. The Union acknowledges and agrees that a xxxxxxx is employed to provide full time work for the company, and that he shall not leave work during working hours to perform his duties under the grievance procedure of this Agreement, without first obtaining the permission of his supervisor, which permission will not be unreasonably withheld. Providing the stewards absence does not unreasonably interfere with the efficient operation of the Company, the xxxxxxx shall not suffer any loss of pay during working hours for time necessarily spent while processing grievances, under the grievance procedure up to and including all steps prior to arbitration but not arbitration.
5.03 The Company recognizes that the Union has the right to appoint or to otherwise select a negotiating committee consisting of the Union Stewards or not more than two (2) employees at the time of negotiations.
5.04 The Union agrees that no Union member or representative will conduct any Union activities on the premises of the Company without the exclusive permission of the bar manager. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. Where a Union Official or representative wishes to visit the premises of the company, the official or representative shall obtain the permission of the bar manager or his designate prior to making such a visit, such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. While on the premises of the company, the Union official or representative shall not conduct himself in such a way as to disrupt the operation of the business.
UNION COMMITTEES AND STEWARDS. 9.01 No individual employee or group of employees shall undertake to represent the Union at meetings with the Corporation without proper authorization of the Union. In order that this may be carried out, the Corporation will recognize:
(a) A Union committee of five (5) employees, one of whom shall be the President/Secretary of the Local or his representative for the purpose of renewing or amending the Collective Agreement.
(b) A grievance committee of three (3) employees, one of whom shall be the President/Secretary of the Local or his representative.
(c) A Union committee, for the purpose of Labour/Management meetings with the Corporation as set out in Article 10.01, shall be made up of the President/Secretary of the Local and/or their designate, and the four (4) Unit Vice-Presidents, or their designates. The Parties agree to have representatives in attendance at Labour/Management meetings in accordance with the agreed Terms of Reference and as may be amended from time to time.
(d) The Corporation and the Union shall maintain Occupational Health and Safety Committees for the Community Services, Public Health, Transportation Services, Water and Wastewater Services, Administrative and Technical Services, Environmental Centre and at any other locations as required by the Occupational Health & Safety Act. Each committee will be composed of both Union and Employer members; the structure of each committee defined in their Terms of Reference. Each committee shall hold meetings per the Terms of Reference or more frequently if requested by the Union or the Corporation for jointly considering, monitoring, inspecting, investigating, reviewing and improving health and safety conditions and practices. Minutes shall be taken of all meetings and copies shall be sent to the Employer and the Union. Subject to conformity with the Occupational Health & Safety Act, any of the foregoing may be amended by mutual agreement between the Parties.
(e) The Union shall have the right at any time to have the assistance of representatives of the Canadian Union of Public Employees when dealing or negotiating with the Corporation.
(f) It is understood, that when a location has two or more members that the Union wishes to have on any committee, the Union shall assign an alternate member from a different location whenever possible. If this is not possible, the manager shall have the right to deny one individual leave for good cause, i.e. scheduling, workload.

UNION COMMITTEES AND STEWARDS. 4.01 (a) The Company will recognize a Union Xxxxxxx Body hereinafter called “Xxxxxxx Body”. 1 - Other Xxxxxxx For conferences and meetings held under any article of the agreement, the Company will recognize a Union Committee that shall not exceed four (4) including the Chief Xxxxxxx. In addition to the above committees, the President of the Local and/or a representative of the National Union may attend such conferences and negotiations when so desired by the Union. UNION COMMITTEES AND STEWARDS. 7.01 The Employer will recognize a Grievance Committee, which shall consist of the Local President, one Executive Board Member and an Area Xxxxxxx. The Employer shall be advised of the names of the stewards and the members of the Grievance Committee from time to time selected. All members of the Grievance Committee and all stewards shall be regular employees of the Board who have acquired at least one year's seniority.
7.02 The Employer shall instruct all members of its supervisory staff to co-operate with the stewards and union officers in carrying out the terms and requirements of this Agreement.
7.03 The Union shall secure from its officers, stewards and members their co-operation with the Employer and with all persons representing the Employer in any supervisory capacity.
7.04 The privilege of stewards and members of the Grievance Committee to leave their work without loss of basic pay to attend to Union business is granted on the following conditions:
(a) Stewards and Grievance Committee members are only permitted to leave their work for Union business at meetings with management, or as otherwise approved by management.
(b) The time shall be devoted to the prompt handling of necessary Union business.
(c) The stewards and members of the Grievance Committee concerned shall obtain prior approval of their supervisor outside the bargaining unit before leaving their work. The xxxxxxx or Grievance Committee member shall advise their supervisor of the time and location of the meeting and state the name of the management person who will be in attendance. Such approval shall not be unreasonably withheld.
(d) The xxxxxxx or Grievance Committee member shall contact their supervisor when they return to the work site so that a proper record of their union business may be kept.
(e) The Board reserves the right to limit such time if it deems the time so taken to be excessive.
7.05 All discussions with employees who have concerns or grievances must take place with the stewards or Grievance Committee members outside of working hours, except in the case of a discharged employee.
