Common use of Illness Exception Clause in Contracts

Illness Exception. If, while on scheduled vacation, an employee suffers a serious health condition (as defined in FMLA) in excess of three (3) days, the employee shall have the option of immediately notifying their supervisor requesting they be carried on sick leave instead of vacation leave for the duration of the illness or the injury. At the Department's request, the employee shall furnish a physician's statement verifying the illness or injury to the Health Detail.
