Common use of Illness/Injury During Vacation Clause in Contracts

Illness/Injury During Vacation. An employee who becomes ill or injured while on vacation may have such period of illness/injury charged to the employee's accumulated sick leave rather than vacation, provided that: immediately upon return to duty, the employee submits to the department head a written request for sick leave, accompanied by a signed statement from the employee's attending physician describing the disabling nature and dates of such illness/injury.
