Implementation in Poland. 158) In Poland, the requirements as to public participation in the preparation of environment- related plans and programmes stemming from the SEA Directive (see s 4.3.1) and Directive 2003/35 (see s 4.3.2) are interwoven with many original mechanisms for consulting the public which might also be relevant for shale gas industry. Both directives have been implemented through the Environmental Information Act638 which, apart from implementing the Aarhus Directive (see s 3.2.3.3),639 in addition implements: 1) the Directive 85/337,640 2) the Habitats Directive,641 3) Directive 2008/1 (see further s 6.5.1),642 and 4) the Directive 2008/56643.
