Common use of IN GROUND Clause in Contracts

IN GROUND. For buried box, Contractor shall furnish all labor, material and equipment to perform excavation Work, and install a new pre-cast concrete box. Box shall be so installed that the marker post will be even with the existing grade or surrounding area. The disturbed area shall be backfilled and restored to original condition. Where a box is being removed from a structure, building or pole, Contractor shall not perform any Work until supply of electrical energy has been disconnected by the utility company having jurisdiction. Where equipment is connected to underground conductors, Contractor shall excavate at ground line and cut conduit at least six (6") inches below surface, Contractor shall also disconnect all conductors, conduit and box, including all straps and supports. Where equipment is removed from walls, all holes shall be carefully cemented and sidewalk area restored. Where removed from structures, area under box, straps, conduit, etc., shall be cleaned of all dirt, rust, etc., and properly painted. Repair and restore disturbed sidewalk area. Mark box and/or frame and cover for identification and return to City Stock.
