Common use of In-Service Meetings Clause in Contracts

In-Service Meetings. (a) The Association may submit requests for courses, workshops and programs designed to improve the quality of instruction to the Superintendent who will present the requests along with his recommendation to the Board of Education. (b) The Association agrees to submit the following information with each request: (1) Rationale for such a meeting or course; (2) Extent staff members were involved in arriving at this request; (3) The number of teachers who would participate; (4) Estimated cost of project; (5) The facilities needed; (6) Time when this project would take place. (c) No additional compensation will be granted to teachers attending inservice meetings. Failure of the Board to approve a request would not be subject to grievance.
