Common use of Informal Stage for Member Grievances Clause in Contracts

Informal Stage for Member Grievances. (a) After consultation with a Member, an Association representative, on behalf of the Member, will meet with the appropriate Xxxx to discuss any matter relating to an alleged grievance. This meeting is to be informal and directed at improving communication and solving problems. The Xxxx will notify the Xxxxxxx, of the outcome of the meeting. (b) In the event that the Association and the Xxxx cannot resolve the alleged grievance, the Xxxx will, within ten (10) working days of the informal meeting, forward in writing to the relevant Association Grievance Officer the reason(s) why the alleged grievance cannot be resolved. (c) If the alleged grievance is resolved, the resolution will be put in writing by the Xxxx within ten (10) working days of the meeting at which the grievance was resolved and the signature of the relevant Association Grievance Officer will confirm acceptance of the resolution. A copy will be sent to the Member, the President of the Association, and the Xxxxxxx. (d) Any settlement at the Informal Stage will not prejudice the position of the Association or the Employer in dealing with other grievances of a similar nature.
