Common use of Initial Placement on Scale Clause in Contracts

Initial Placement on Scale. a. At the time of appointment, the Board shall advise the teacher, in writing, of the documentation required to establish initial scale placement. b. Each teacher shall submit all documentation required by the Board to establish salary placement. Such documentation shall be submitted within three months of commencement of employment. The teacher shall be responsible for advising the Board, in writing, if delays which occur in obtaining the documentation necessitate an extension of the time limits. c. The Board shall not refuse a request for extension of the time limits. The Board shall advise the teacher in writing when any documentation has not been received and shall pursue the matter with the teacher. d. The Board shall notify the teacher, in writing, of the category and experience placement that has been assigned.
