Interior mirrors. Mirrors shall be provided for the operator to observe passengers throughout the vehicle without leaving his seat and without shoulder movement. With a full standee-load, including standees in the vestibule, the operator shall be able to observe passengers in the front/entrance, anywhere in the aisle, and in the rear seats. Inside mirrors shall not be in the line of sight to the right outside mirror. Mountings shall be sturdy to resist flexing, vibration, and vandalism. A swivel-mounted mirror no smaller than 4 inches by 16 or 8 by 15 inches attached above and to the right of the operator’s head shall accomplish interior observation. Observation of the front doorway shall be provided by a 7 inch by 10-inch diminishing type mirror over the entrance area. One shall be a 6 inch round convex mirror installed at the upper right corner near the windshield header. Mirrors mounted near the doorway shall not be an obstruction to passengers.
