Internal Practices, Books, and Records. Business Associate must make its internal practices, books, and records relating to the use and disclosure of PHI received from, or created or received by the Business Associate on behalf of, the City available to the Secretary for purposes of determining compliance with HIPAA. Business Associate also must make internal practices, books, and records relating to the use and disclosure of PHI received from, or created or received by Business Associate on behalf of, the City available to the City in a time and manner designated by the City, for purposes of the Secretary determining City’s compliance with HIPAA.

Internal Practices, Books, and Records. Business Associate shall make available its Internal practices, books, and records relating to the use and disclosure of PHI received from, created, or received by Business Associate on behalf of the Covered Entity to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or its agents for the purpose of determining compliance with the HIPAA Rules, or any other health oversight agency, or to the Covered Entity.
