International Criminal Court. 1. The Parties reaffirm that the most serious crimes of concern to the international community as a whole must not go unpunished and that their effective prosecution must be ensured by taking measures at the national and international level, including the International Criminal Court (ICC). 2. The Parties consider that the establishment and effective functioning of the ICC constitutes an important development for international peace and justice. The Parties agree to support the ICC by implementing the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court and its related instruments, giving due regard to preserving its integrity.

International Criminal Court. The Parties shall cooperate in promoting peace and international justice by ratifying and implementing the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC) of 1998 and its related instruments.

In promoting the strengthening of peace and international justice, the Parties reaffirm their determination to: (a) take steps to implement the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court ("Rome Statute") and, as appropriate, related instruments; (b) share experience with regional partners in the adoption of legal adjustments required to allow for the ratification and implementation of the Rome Statute; and (c) cooperate to further the goal of the universality and integrity of the Rome Statute.

The Parties recognise that Iraq is not yet a State Party to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, but that Iraq is considering the possibility of acceding to it in the future. In so doing, Iraq will take steps to accede to, ratify and implement the Rome Statute and related instruments. 3. The Parties reaffirm their determination to cooperate on this issue, including by sharing experience in the adoption of legal adjustments required by the relevant international law.
