Common use of Job Related Courses Clause in Contracts

Job Related Courses. The employer and Union encourage employees to attend training and upgrading courses, seminars, and workshops related to their work. When the employer requires an employee to take certain training, the employer will pay the cost of tuition and textbooks. The Board, with prior written approval from the Superintendent of Schools or designate, will reimburse employees for fees or texts for job-related courses. Reimbursement will be contingent upon receipt of proof of participation and/or satisfactory completion of the course work. It is understood that any leave of absence approval and the total funds available will be at the discretion of the employer. This will not preclude any training procedures with regard to technological change as outlined in the Letter of Intent of April 9, 1987 as agreed and attached to and forming part of this Agreement.
