Common use of Jurisdiction and Authority of Arbitrator Clause in Contracts

Jurisdiction and Authority of Arbitrator. The Arbitrator shall have jurisdiction only over those grievances which have been properly submitted to arbitration in accordance with the terms of this Agreement. The arbitrator shall have no power to add to or subtract from, or change, modify or amend in any way the terms and conditions of employment set forth in this Agreement; nor shall the arbitrator have any power to decide any issue determined to involve matters of inherent managerial policy. The decision of the arbitrator shall be subject to all the limitations of arbitration decisions set forth in PELRA.
