LABORATORY TEST RESULTS Sample Clauses

LABORATORY TEST RESULTS.Β The basic characterization of the detectors is performed with a collimated flux of 5.9 keV photons generated by a Philips PW2217/20 X-ray gun. The gas gain of the detectors has been measured in current mode, correlating the current drawn through the resistive layer as a function of the potential applied to the amplification stage. As shown in fig. 5, the gas gain of the various detectors, measured for the Ar/i-C4H10 = 90/10 gas mixture, and parametrized as 𝐺 = 𝑒(π›Όβˆ†π‘‰βˆ’ 𝛽), is typically β‰₯ 10000, being stopped when current instabilities (not discharges) are observed: the largest gain is generally reached with the most resistive detector.

The jet shall be sprayed almost perpendicular to the surface to be tested. The deterioration shall be checked by means of one or more samples of glass placed as a reference near the lenses to be tested. The mixture shall be sprayed until the variation in the diffusion of light on the sample or samples measured by the method described in Appendix 2, is such that: Ξ” d = (T5 - T4) / T2 ≀ 0.0250 Β± 0.0025 Several reference samples may be used to check that the whole surface to be tested has deteriorated homogeneously.
