Common use of Lateness Clause in Contracts

Lateness. An occurrence of lateness is defined as: • Arriving at assigned work station greater than 5 minutes after the scheduled start time of the shift and/or failing to return in a timely manner from a meal break or work break. Employees are required to adhere to departmental guidelines if they work in areas where they are required to change into and out of scrubs or other required uniforms to perform their job duties. Guidelines: • Excessive lateness is defined as 5 occurrences in a rolling 12-month period starting with the date of first occurrence. • Discipline for excessive lateness will be managed per the Guidelines for Cooperation and Discipline.
