Layoff Definition and Determination. 23 For purposes of the layoff and recall Sections of this Agreement, the term “layoff” shall‌ 24 refer to a reduction in the Employer's work force due to a lack of work, a decrease in work or a 25 change or reallocation in appropriation of funds by the Employer. In the event that a layoff is 26 deemed necessary, the determination as to which particular job classification or job 27 classifications within which particular department or departments shall be affected by the layoff 28 shall be made by the Employer.
