Common use of Leave During Vacation Clause in Contracts

Leave During Vacation. Where, in respect to any period of vacation, an Employee is: a) granted bereavement leave; or b) granted sick leave as a result of hospitalization, upon receipt of written verification; or c) granted sick leave for an illness which would confine the Employee for a duration of more than three (3) scheduled days, as verified by a medical doctor, Registered Nurse (Nurse Practitioner); or d) granted sick leave immediately prior to commencing her/his scheduled vacation and such illness continues into the period of scheduled vacation, as verified by a medical doctor, Registered Nurse (Nurse Practitioner); or e) granted union leave; the period of vacation so displaced shall either be added to the vacation period if requested by the Employee and approved by the Employer, or reinstated for use later.
