Common use of Leave for Candidate for Public Office Clause in Contracts

Leave for Candidate for Public Office. Employees have the right to become candidates for public offices and to serve in such offices, unless there is a specific legal prohibition, as in the case of the City and County of Denver. Employees who have completed at least three (3) continuous years of service may be granted a leave of absence without pay or increment, in order to run for, or serve in, public office. Application for leave will be for a determined period of time.
