Leave for Compassionate Reasons. An academic staff member who qualifies for Compassionate Care Benefits under the Employment Insurance Act program will be granted a leave without pay from the University for the period of time approved by Employment Insurance. If the employee qualifies for Compassionate Care leave it can be combined with a Leave for Urgent Personal Reasons.
