LEAVE OF ABSENCE TO ACCEPT ELECTIVE OR APPOINTIVE STATE OR NATIONAL UNION OFFICE. A. Should a Public Safety Officer be elected, or appointed, to a State or National Union Office, a leave of absence without pay may be granted at the discretion of the University for a period not to exceed one (1) year.
