Short Term. Upon written request from the Executive Director of AFSCME Council 75 to DAS Labor Relations Unit and the Agency’s Human Resource Manager, up to four (4) Presidents/designees from AFSCME Council 75 Central Table participating Agencies shall be given release time from his/her position for a period of time up to three (3) months for the performance of Union duties related to the collective bargaining relationship. Only one (1) employee from a bargaining unit and a total of four (4) employees from all Central Table participating bargaining units may be on such leave at any one (1) period in time. Such requests will be granted unless the affected Agency can demonstrate that the employee’s absence would adversely impact the operating needs of the employee’s work unit. If granted, such time may also be taken on an intermittent basis. AFSCME shall, within thirty (30) days of payment to the employee, reimburse the State for payment of appropriate salary, benefits, paid leave time, pension, and all other employer-related costs. Where this reimbursement is expressly prohibited by law or funding source, the employee shall be granted a leave of absence but the Employer will not be responsible for continuing to pay the employee’s salary and benefits.

Short Term a. An employee who is a member of the National Guard, or who is a commissioned reserve officer or reserve enlisted personnel in the United States military service, shall be granted a leave of absence from his/her respective duties, without loss of pay, time or efficiency rating, for all days s/he is engaged in active duty or training ordered under the provisions of the United States military. Such leaves of absence shall not exceed 17 days in any one annual period. b. Military leave shall not affect an employee’s annual leave time for those positions earning annual leave. c. The employee shall attach a copy of his/her orders to his/her request for leave. d. The employee should endeavor to have his/her periods of training scheduled during his/her summer vacation. In cases where the employee requests military leave, the employee shall furnish a letter from his/her commanding officer indicating the necessity of taking leave at that time.
Short Term. Notwithstanding any other provisions of this Article, the appointing authority, on approval of the Chief Administrative Officer, for good cause may grant a permanent or probationary employee a voluntary leave of absence without pay with right of return to the same position subject to the following conditions: 1. Leave must be taken in increments of one full regular workday for the eligible employee (e.g., 8, 9, 10, or 12 hours). 2. Such leave shall be available only during a period or periods of time designated by the Board of Supervisors as times of economic hardship. 3. The amount of leave time taken during the period authorized by the Board of Supervisors shall not exceed the total number of hours in one regular pay period for the eligible employee. 4. Credits toward paid leave and holiday eligibility shall accrue as though the employee were on paid status. 5. Time on this special unpaid leave shall apply toward time in service for completion of probation and toward seniority for purposes of layoff. 6. Such leave is available only to employees who are on paid status the entire day before as well as the entire day after the work furlough days. 7. Employees on other leave without pay shall not be eligible for work furlough.
Short Term. The Academy may incur temporary debt in accordance with Section 1225 of the Code provided, at the option of SUPO, it submits forms of the proposed financing documents (including term sheet, amortization schedule and cash flow) to the attention of the Director of SUPO at least fifteen (15) business days prior to closing and obtains his/her written nondisapproval of the transaction prior to closing. For transactions involving the Michigan Finance Authority’s annual State Aid Note Pool program, in recognition of the fact that the documents are of a standardized set and have historically been released to counsel and require return by counsel in a compressed time period, in lieu of providing transaction documents, the Academy will provide the State Aid Note Program application, cash flow workbook, and all application-related materials to SUPO simultaneous with submission to the State Aid Note Program staff. The SUPO’s nondisapproval of any transaction hereunder is not a representation by SUPO of any aspect of the Academy’s operations, the Academy’s credit-worthiness, or the Academy’s ability to repay the indebtedness incurred. Credit decisions regarding indebtedness are expressly the responsibility of the lender.

The determination for granting such leave shall be made by the Agency based on operational needs of the Agency. Leave will be requested through the normal agency procedure.

Such leave is available only to employees who are on paid leave status the entire day before as well as the entire day after the work furlough days. 8. Employees on other leave without pay shall not be eligible for work furlough. 9. Work furlough shall not be granted retroactively.
Short Term. In the event of the Executive's failure to substantially perform his duties hereunder on a full-time basis for periods aggregating not more than one hundred eighty (180) days during any twelve-month period as a result of incapacity due to physical or mental illness, the Company shall continue to pay the Base Salary to the Executive during the period of such incapacity, but only in the amounts and to the extent that disability benefits payable to the Executive under Company-sponsored insurance polices are less than the Executive's Base Salary.

Short Term. Short Term Occasional Teachers may be granted leaves of absence without pay by applying to the Director of Education or designate. The leaves shall not be considered as interrupting the continuity of the assignment.
Short Term. Employees who lost time due to obligatory short-term emergency or annual unit training duty with the National Guard or military reserves may be granted leave with regular pay consistent with their official military orders up to a period of fifteen (15) working days per annum. During the fifteen (15) day period, accrual of benefits will continue. In order to implement this policy, the employee must present the Board with a copy of his/her military orders. In the absence of supporting documents, lost time due to military training or emergency duty shall be uncompensated. If a 10-month employee has an option as to when he/she participates in short-term duty, he/she shall do so at the time which has least conflict with his/her professional duties.
Short Term. Leave for a portion of a quarter may be approved by the appropriate administrator in exceptional circumstances. Such leave is not intended for recreational purposes.
