LEAVE RELATED TO SICK AND ACCIDENT LEAVE. 3.6.5.1 Sickness/Non-work Accident Workers who have exhausted their sick leave and who are on continuous leave without pay due to illness or non-work accident shall be permitted to take or accumulate annual leave for up to two years. After this, a worker shall not qualify for any further periods of annual leave until the resumption of duty.

  • Sickness and Accident If the Contractor’s Employees fall sick in the period during which they are engaged on the RLA, the UNDP shall not be responsible for arranging or paying for medical treatment and attention. The UNDP shall not be required to pay for the services of the Contractor’s Employees for any period that the Contractor’s Employees are incapacitated by sickness. If in the opinion of the UNDP, any of the Contractor’s Employees either has been or will be incapacitated by sickness for an unreasonable period or period then, and in that case, it shall be at the discretion of the UNDP to decide if and when the employment of the Contractor’s Employee under the RLA shall be terminated and the Contractor be required to replace him. In this event, the Contractor shall on receipt of instructions from the UNDP comply forthwith and shall substitute for the Employee whose services are so terminated another and satisfactory person and the whole costs of such replacements shall be at the Contractor’s expense.

  • Accident Leave 22.1 Transport of injured employees - Where the accident is work-related and the injury sustained by the employee necessitates immediate removal to a hospital, or to a medical practitioner for medical attention and then to their residence or a hospital, or to their residence (medical attention away from the residence not being required), the employer is to provide or arrange for the necessary transport, pay all reasonable expenses for meals and lodging incurred by or on behalf of the employee during the period she/he is transported, and claim reimbursement from ACC.

  • Sickness and Accident Insurance During the term of this Agreement, the Employer shall pay the required premiums for each employee for sickness and accident insurance which will pay Three Hundred Fifty Dollars ($350.00) per week for a period of fifty-two (52) weeks. This benefit shall be payable from the thirty-first (31st) day of disability due to illness or injury.

  • Medical Leave of Absence Where you have a medical leave of absence due to any medically determinable physical or mental impairment that can be expected to result in death or can be expected to last for a continuous period of not less than six months, and you have not returned to employment with the Company or an Affiliate, a Separation from Service has occurred on the earlier of: (A) the first day on which you would not be considered “disabled” under any disability policy of the Company or Affiliate under which you are then receiving a benefit; or (B) the first day on which your medical leave of absence period exceeds 29 months.

  • Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness Leave a) Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness leaves granted to a permanent Teacher or long-term Occasional Teacher under this Article shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act, 2000, as amended.

  • ARTICLE BEREAVEMENT LEAVE An Employee who would otherwise have been at work shall be allowed up to three (3) days’ leave with pay in the event of the death of a member of immediate family and such leave will not be charged against the Employee’s attendance credits. For the purpose of this section, “immediate family”, shall include the Employee’s spouse, common-law spouse, mother, father, stepmother, stepfather, mother-in-law, father-in-law, son, daughter, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, stepson, stepdaughter, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, xxxxxx parents, legal guardians, grandchildren and the grandparents of the Employee and spouse or any relative with whom the Employee lives. Necessary travelling time in addition to the three (3) days may be granted at the discretion of the Police Chief. It is the responsibility of the Employee to request this leave from supervisor. It is the responsibility of the supervisor to obtain the decision of the Police Chief, or designate, as applicable, and for advising the Employee of the decision made.

  • Portability of Sick Leave 1. The employer will accept up to sixty (60) accumulated sick leave days from other school districts in British Columbia, for employees hired to or on exchange in the district.

  • Critical Illness Leave (i) An Employee who has completed at least ninety (90) days of employment, and is a family member of a critically ill child or a critically ill qualified adult relative, is entitled to leave of absence without pay or benefits: • for a period of up to thirty-six (36) weeks to care for their critically ill child; or, • for a period of up to sixteen (16) weeks to care for a critically ill qualified adult relative.
