Leave Respecting. the Disappearance of a Child Employees are entitled to an unpaid leave of up to the maximum set out in the Employment Standards Act in the event that their child under 19 years of age has gone missing and it is probable the child’s disappearance is the result of a crime. If the child is found alive during the leave, the leave will end 14 days thereafter. If the child is found deceased, the leave will end immediately.

Leave Respecting. the Disappearance of a Child Employees Child An employee is entitled to a leave of absence without pay of up to 52 weeks if they are entitled to an unpaid leave respecting the disappearance of up to the maximum set out in a child under the Employment Standards Act and such leave will be in accordance with the Employment Standards Act. There will be no interruption in the event that their child under 19 years accrual of age has gone missing and it is probable the child’s disappearance is the result of a crime. If the child is found alive during the leave, the leave will end 14 days thereafter. If the child is found deceased, the leave will end immediatelyseniority or eligibility for benefits.
