Librarian Members have a right and a responsibility to exercise judgment in carrying out their duties. The professional practice of Librarians includes: a) Providing reference services; b) Teaching information literacy; c) Evaluating, selecting, acquiring, and organizing collections; d) Providing access to and disseminating information; e) Administrative responsibilities such as coordinating a service or department within the Library; f) Creating Library policies and procedures; and g) Developing professional knowledge and maintaining currency through continuing education and research.
