Library Operations. 5/18/21 – Posted signage in the library per Governor’s executive orders about mask wearing. We had 5 people apply for the Director of Adult Services position. We have interviewed 3 people and hope to decide next week. Several staff members will be viewing a webinar from Xxxx Xxxx on “customers without masks”. We have posted several weekly comic strips on our Facebook page featuring Ms. Xxxxxx Book and Ms. X. they have been well received. We had an employee resign because their family has moved, and she has accepted a full-time job. We will need to fill this position at the end of the summer. We have been sent a demo link to our website for staff to go over and test with different devices (phones, tablets, laptops) to make sure it is viewable/working on all platforms. We will be reviewing this individually and then meeting as a group to discuss and send our 1st revisions back to Weblinx for editing.
Library Operations. LS&S shall conduct the Services as described in Schedule A. Staffing of the Library shall be as described in Schedule A; provided, however, that the MPLB must approve the person recommended by LS&S to serve as the Head Librarian for the Library, such approval not to be unreasonably withheld, conditioned, or delayed. LS&S shall reasonably cooperate with the City Manager and the Chairperson of the MPLB or their designees in providing the Services. The MPLB shall have the authority to reasonably conduct daily oversight of LS&S activities at the Library. The MPLB shall establish reasonable policies and procedures for operation of the Millington Public Library. Any request by LS&S to change the hours of operations, staffing, rates, or any other operational aspect at the Library must be submitted in writing to the Chairperson of the MPLB, or his designees. No operational change requested by LS&S shall take effect until such time, if any, as the Chairperson of the MPLB approves same, such approval not to be unreasonably withheld, conditioned, or delayed.
Library Operations. The BSCL Board and School Board shall jointly adopt policies to govern Library operations. This will be done with particular attention to key policies affecting materials selection and weeding criteria, challenges to collection and censorship.
1. All policies relating to the Library will be compiled in written form; approved by the School Board and BSCL Board; and reviewed every three (3) years by all the governing bodies.
2. Policy updates or revisions relating to the BSCL Board will be presented to the School Board in the monthly meeting of the Xxxxxxxx School Board.
