LR refers to Limited Registration as per the Teachers Registration Board of WA. A teacher with Limited Registration or a Trade Trainer will be appointed at a level appropriate to his or her teaching qualifications and professional experience in teaching or vocational training as they apply to the position to which the appointment is made. Trade Trainers appointed with a relevant trade qualification but without prior experience in teaching or training will commence on Step 3 and progress to a maximum of Step 9, unless the staff member has a formal secondary teaching qualification. Where a trainer does have a secondary teaching qualification, they can progress through to Step 10. On appointment, a teacher shall be placed at the appropriate salary level according to qualifications and full-time equivalent teaching experience in Australia as shown in the following table: Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 4 year education degree or 3 year first degree plus 1 year post-graduate education degree.
