Step 2. The Union Representative or Representatives may take the matter up with the Employer official designated by the Employer to handle Labour Relations matters. If the matter is not taken up within ten (10) calendar days of the date the Union received the written reply to the grievance in Step 1, it shall be deemed to have been abandoned and further recourse to the Grievance Procedure shall be forfeited.
Step 2. If no settlement is reached at Step 1, the aggrieved employee shall submit the grievance in writing to his/her department head through the Union, within ten (10) working days of the discussion provided at Step 1. The Department Head/designee shall render a decision within fifteen (15) working days after the conclusion of the meeting. A written copy of the decision including all relevant information on which the decision was based shall be sent to the grievant and Union representative.
