Graduate Education. Collectively, the MPC universities offer one of the most diverse and comprehensive multimodal multidisciplinary graduate education programs in the nation. As shown earlier, 57 courses were offered in the Spring and Summer 2016 and 496 courses have been offered since the inception of the program. The impact of the educational program will increase in future years, as the MPC universities expand the number of courses offered through their existing exchange program, in which students from any MPC university can take courses from other universities. These courses must be placed online for the collaborative exchange to work most effectively. Considerable progress has been made, thus far, in converting classroom courses to online courses and increasing the reach of the program.

Graduate Education. 1. Payment for approved and completed graduate courses selected by a unit member will be made in accordance with the following provisions: a. Approved graduate study shall be graduate level courses offered by an accredited college or university which are directly related to the unit member's assignment and/or will be of substantial benefit to a unit member in more effectively carrying out the teacher's teaching assignment responsibilities. b. The unit member must have at least a Bachelor's Degree (or Master's Degree) and hold permanent certification in the teacher's major teaching assignment area. c. Approval of the Superintendent of Schools prior to a unit member's enrollment may be waived at the discretion of the Superintendent of Schools due to extenuating circumstances. d. Transcripts verifying satisfactory completion of any course must be received by the District before payment for credit hours. e. Graduate credit hours shall be paid in accordance with Appendix "A" of this Agreement. f. No payment will be made under the above provision of Section D. I for graduate study completed during a professional improvement leave. 2. Payment for approved graduate courses selected by the District and completed by a unit member at the request of the District will be made in accordance with the following provisions: a. Approved graduate study shall be graduate level courses offered by an accredited college or university which in the judgment of the Superintendent of Schools will provide a unit member with permanent certification in another teaching area or broaden the unit member's background in the teacher's primary teaching assignment area. b. Transcripts verifying satisfactory completion of any course taken under the provisions of Article 14D.2.a above must be received by the District before reimbursement of expenses will be made. c. A unit member will be reimbursed directly for the following expenses incurred in satisfactorily completing any selected graduate level course: (1) Full cost of tuition, registration, related fees and books. (2) Travel allowance of $20 daily for each day of class session. d. Reimbursement of expenses for satisfactory completion of graduate level courses under the above provisions will be made directly to the unit member by the District within 30 days of receipt of verifying transcripts and receipt of copies of tuition bills and related expense bills. e. The impact of the educational program will increase in future years, as the MPC universities expand the number of courses offered through their existing exchange program, in which students from any MPC university can take courses from other universities. These courses must be placed online for the collaborative exchange to work most effectively. Considerable progress has been made, thus far, in converting classroom courses to online courses and increasing the reach of the program. The Master of Transportation and Urban Systems degree is offered fully online at NDSU.
Graduate Education. Student participation in this program provides opportunities for students to enhance their professional development and work experience by participating in hands on research working alongside ARC and FIU scientists. In addition, graduate students are encouraged to develop master theses and/or PhD dissertation topics with direct supervision of ARC scientists and FIU faculty based on their XXX XX research. To date, 31 master’s theses and 3 PhD dissertations have been completed (or are being completed) by DOE Fellows at FIU as a result of XXX XX research. Others have continued their graduate education at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Michigan, Purdue, Stanford, Virginia Tech, University of Tennessee, University of South Florida, and other institutions.
Graduate Education. In June 2011, the Ethiopian Institute of Water Resources (EIWR) at Addis Ababa University admitted its first class of graduate students in its newly created Water Resources Engineering and Management (WREM) program. A total of 42 students – 18 Ph.D. and 24 X.Xx. – were selected for the program in its first year. Although the program was originally only able to support half this many students, additional support received from the Ethiopian Ministry of Education allowed for a significant increase in the number of students supported. Xxxxxxx Xxxxx worked as a lecturer at Xxxx Xxxxx University prior to joining the WREM program to pursue her Ph.D. She also indicated the extreme challenges associated with studying abroad and was extremely happy to be selected to study at EIWR. She is excited to have the opportunity to do her dissertation research to help address problems in her country. The WREM program is the first of five graduate programs being developed as part of the Ethiopian – U.S. Partnership in Sustainable Water Resources in cooperation with five partnering Ethiopian universities. In the coming month, the WREM graduate students will begin their dissertation research which will address water related challenges in Ethiopia.
Graduate Education. Administrators are eligible for tuition reimbursement for up to six (6) graduate credits per year at a rate of $750 per credit provided that the following criteria are met: i. The courses taken are at the graduate level and are related to the administrator’s present job responsibilities; ii. The courses are previously approved, in writing, by the Superintendent; iii. The courses are taken at or online through a college or university accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP); and iv. The administrator achieves a grade of “B” or better as provided on the final transcript.

These courses must be placed online for the collaborative exchange to work most effectively. Considerable progress has been made, thus far, in converting classroom courses to online courses and increasing the reach of the program. NDSU’s Master of Managerial Logistics degree is now available completely online—being offered to active duty military and reserve personnel wherever they may be located. The Master of Transportation and Urban Systems degree will be offered fully online in the near future.

Related to Graduate Education

  • Special Education Special education services, related services, and accommodations for students who are eligible under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), or any applicable provisions of state law, shall be provided in accordance with applicable state and federal law, this Agreement and Authorizer rules and policies. The Authorizer is the LEA for purposes of ensuring compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and all other federal and state laws and regulations concerning accommodation of and education of students with disabilities.

  • Continuing Education The Hospital and the Union recognize that continuing education is important for all employees and that they have shared interests and responsibilities in ensuring equitable access to it.

  • General Education University Program Requirements All MTA applicable courses require a grade “C” or higher

  • Distance Education 7.13.1 Expanding student access, not increasing productivity or enrollment, shall be the primary determining factor when a decision is made to schedule a distance education course. There will be no reduction in force of faculty (as defined in Article XXIII of this Agreement) as a result of the District’s participation in distance education. 7.13.2 Courses considered to be offered as distance education shall be defined in accordance with the Board of Governors’ Title 5 Regulations and Guidelines. Generally, this definition refers to courses where the instructor and student are separated by distance and interact through the assistance of communication technology (reference section 55370 of Title 5 California Code of Regulations). The determination of which courses in the curriculum may be offered in a distance education format, in addition to instructor/student contact requirements, shall be in accordance with the Title 5 California Code of Regulations.

  • In-Service Education The parties recognize the value of in-service both to the employee and the Employer and shall encourage employees to participate in in-service. All employees scheduled by the Employer to attend in-service seminars shall receive regular wages.

  • Union Education If the local union indicates to the Hospital that its members have approved a special assessment for union education in accordance with the CUPE constitution and local union by laws, the Hospital agrees to deduct this assessment. Such assessment will be paid on a quarterly basis into a trust fund established and administered by OCHU/CUPE for this purpose.

  • Training and Education SECTION 1 – Law Enforcement Supervisors’ Training

  • Special Education Teachers Elementary/Secondary Special Education Coordinators shall be compensated for an extended work day in the amount of four thousand dollars ($4,000).

  • Paid Education Leave The Company agrees to pay into a special fund effective January 1st, 2013 and each year thereafter, two thousand ($2,000.00) for the purpose of providing Paid Education Leave. Said Paid Education Leave will be for the purpose of upgrading the Dependent Contractor’s skills in all aspects of trade union functions. Such monies will be paid into a trust fund established by the National Union, Unifor and sent by the Company to the following address: Unifor Education Leave Program c/o Unifor 000 Xxxxxx Xxxxx Xxxxxxx, XX X0X 0X0 The Company further agrees that members of the bargaining unit selected by the Union to attend such courses will be granted a Leave of Absence without pay for twenty (20) days class time, plus travel time where necessary, with said Leave of Absence to be intermittent over a twelve (12) month period from the first day of leave. Dependent Contractors on such leave will continue to accrue seniority and benefits during such leave.
