Manageability: Inputs related to DigCovery and WP5 Sample Clauses

Manageability: Inputs related to DigCovery and WP5. ‌ The Digcovery system allows the scalable management of the IoT components and resources deployed in the IoT6 project. To manage the IoT resources, the digcovery system provides a scalable architecture based on a global digcovery core and many local digrectories. First, each digrectory is a resource repository deployed as a middleware distributed in routers or gateways in order to manage all services and resources in a local IoT network. Second, the digcovery is a central service system located in a cloud platform providing easily accessible and well-known access point to manage the look-up operations for any IoT resources registered in the system. So, the central digcovery platform offers a full vision of all available resources in the distributed local digrectories. The digcovery architecture provides resource management capabilities and resource directory at local and global levels. In particular, the digcovery system registers the types, domains, properties and locations of the IoT6 services and resources. Each digrectory saves information detailed about the services and resources of IoT devices in the local domain. The digcovery system stores information simplified about types of services available in the digrectories. The information changes of IoT components are automatically updated in the digcovery system at local and global levels. For instance, if a mobile device changes its location, this device indicates the new position to the local resources digrectory; this propagates the update to the global digcovery core. The global digcovery and local digrectories enable the easy management of dynamic services and resources provided by heterogeneous and ubiquitous IoT devices (for implementation details, see D3.1 “Look up and discovery, context-awareness and resource” [31]).
