MANDATORY REST PERIOD. Unless an employee agrees otherwise, employees will not be required to work more than sixteen (16) hours in a twenty-four (24) hour period without being allowed an eight (8) hour rest period. Should an employee reasonably believe that he or she can work more than sixteen (16) hours in a twenty-four (24) hour period, he or she will be permitted to do so. The Employer may require an employee to work more than sixteen (16) hours in a twenty-four (24) hour period only in the case of emergency or natural disaster. If an employee is required to work more than sixteen (16) hours in a twenty-four (24) period because of emergency or natural disaster, the employee shall be allowed an eight (8) hour rest period at the end of the work period.
