Employee Safety. ‌ A. All incidents of workplace violence, unsafe equipment or job conditions shall be brought to the attention of the immediate supervisor, or in their absence, the next higher level of supervision. Should the unsafe condition not be corrected within a reasonable time, the equipment or job practice shall be brought to the attention of the Safety Committee. Additionally, employees shall report any exposure to known or suspected carcinogens in writing on a separate form. A copy of the form shall be sent to the Local Safety Committee. Employees have the right to file complaints with the State Department of Labor and Industry OSHA Division. B. Any protective equipment or clothing, e.g., safety glasses or other types of eye protection (including prescription lenses and frames when required), safety helmets, safety vests, welding gloves and aprons, safety shoes, ear protection, protective gloves, etc., shall be provided and maintained by the Appointing Authority whenever such equipment is required as a condition of employment either by the Appointing Authority, by OSHA, or by the Federal Mine Safety and Health Administration. The employee shall have the responsibility to use all such provided protective equipment (see Article 20, Section 11). C. All employees who are injured or who are involved in an accident during the course of their employment shall file a first report of injury and/or an accident report, on forms furnished by the Appointing Authority, no matter how slight the incident. A summary of the first report of injury and/or accident report shall be furnished to the Safety Committee. All such injuries shall be reported to the employee's immediate supervisor and any necessary medical attention, including transportation if required, shall be arranged. The Appointing Authority shall provide assistance to employees in filling out all necessary Workers' Compensation forms, when requested. D. Any medical examination required by the Appointing Authority shall be at no cost to the employee and the Appointing Authority shall receive a copy of the medical report. Upon request, the employee shall receive a copy of the medical report. E. During every four (4) hour period in which an employee spends all their time on a computer, the employee will be given a five (5) minute alternative work assignment or if this is not practicable, a five (5) minute rest period scheduled to interrupt continuous operation of the machine. Employee Safety. A. Any employee who is injured or who is involved in an accident during the course of his/her employment, no matter how slight the injury, shall file an accident report with the designated supervisor, as soon as possible after the injury and prior to the conclusion of the employee's work day, whenever possible. While the initial report may be given orally, it must be followed up within 48 hours with a written report on the First Report of Injury form which shall be submitted to the appropriate administrator/supervisor who shall then submit it to the appropriate Human Resources Department. B. The University agrees to assess any unsafe or unhealthy working conditions in a timely manner and will take remedial action, as appropriate. Results of such assessments shall be reported to the employee(s) who reported the condition. C. The University will make available information about hazardous substances in the workplace as required by Minnesota Employees Right to Know Act (MERTKA) and the Minnesota Occupational Safety and Health Act (MOSHA). D. The Employer agrees to supply the equipment necessary to do work safely and to avoid injury to workers. When proper equipment is determined by the Employer or law or regulation, every effort shall be made to provide and use it in a timely manner to prevent injury. E. Employees have the right to refuse work consistent with M.S. 182.654, Subd. 11.
Employee Safety. (A) An employee who becomes aware of a work-related accident shall immediately notify the supervisor of the area where the incident occurred. (B) When an employee believes that an unsafe working condition exists in the work area, the employee shall immediately report the condition to the supervisor. E. Monitoring of workplace environments and personal exposures to toxic or hazardous materials or conditions shall be performed as required by OSHA.
Employee Safety. 15.1 The Tulare County Office of Education shall provide a safe work environment for its employees. 15.2 If physical conditions, due to mechanical or building failures or other emergencies create an unsuitable environment for the employee(s), the employee who observes such a condition in the work facility shall have the duty to immediately notify the supervisor of the conditions and the grounds upon which it is alleged to be unsafe or unsuitable. 15.3 Any employee who observes an ongoing condition in the work facility that he/she feels is unsafe or is creating an unsuitable learning environment shall have the duty to immediately advise the Tulare County Office of Education management in writing of the conditions and the grounds upon which it is alleged to be unsafe or unsuitable. Management will respond in writing within five (5) working days, citing corrective actions to be taken. 15.4 Written review of the rights and duties of certificated employees regarding student discipline and suspension shall be presented at teacher orientation and in-service each year. Teachers and supervisors shall communicate regularly and as needed regarding student behavior that is disruptive, assaultive or destructive. 15.5 Action plans will be developed and signed by all parties to maintain order, ensure staff/student safety and con- formity to county policy, California Education Code, and county legal opinions regarding student discipline and suspension. Employees shall immediately report cases of assault suffered by them by pupils in connection with their employment to their immediate supervisor. The supervisor will have the responsibility to contact the police when appropriate. 15.5.1 The employee will not be disciplined for using the amount of physical control reasonably necessary for his/her personal protection. 15.5.2 When an employee feels his/her safety is potentially endangered by a student, he/she shall so inform his/her immediate supervisor. The immediate supervisor shall arrange a conference as soon as possible. The conference with the unit member may include the parent and/or the appropriate specialist. 15.5.3 In the event of a lawsuit against an employee acting within the course and scope of employment, the County Office shall provide protection from liability and shall provide legal defense to employee pursuant to Division 3.6 (commencing with section 810) of Title I of Government Code, including Government Code 825. 15.5.4 The County Office shall notify the t...
Employee Safety. A. All reports of unsafe equipment or job conditions shall be brought to the attention of the immediate supervisor by filling the Unusual Incident Report. Should the reported unsafe equipment or job condition not be corrected or be in the process of being corrected within fourteen (14) calendar days, the equipment or job condition shall be brought to the attention of the Safety Committee by the bargaining unit employee. B. Any protective equipment or clothing, e.g., adequate eye protection, adequate head protection, safety vest, welding gloves and aprons, etc., required to be worn as a condition of employment by the Employer or OSHA shall be provided and maintained by the Employer. C. All employees who are injured or who are involved in an accident while performing the duties of the assigned job shall file an incident report on forms furnished by the Employer. All such injuries shall be reported to the employee's immediate supervisor any necessary immediate medical attention shall be arranged, without loss of pay for the employee. The Employer shall provide assistance to the employees, when requested, in filling out all necessary Worker's Compensation forms. D. When the Employer suspects that the health of an employee at work could endanger other employees, patients, or the employee themselves, the Employer may require the employee to acquire a work clearance from the appropriate Employee Health Service at no cost to the employee. (A copy of the medical report shall be furnished to the employee and the Employer).
Employee Safety. 15.1 It shall be the employee's responsibility to report to the principal any observed unsafe physical conditions in the buildings or on the school premises. 15.1.1 The report should be done verbally as soon as the condition is recognized. 15.1.2 The employee shall file a maintenance repair request with the employee’s appropriate supervisor and will have access to the district maintenance accounting system to file a written request. One (1) copy shall be retained by the employee and one (1) forwarded to Federation. 15.1.3 Work/repair requested done as a result of the application of the criteria in 15.2 below shall be done within a reasonable period of time. 15.1.4 A copy of the completed maintenance repair request shall be forwarded to Federation. 15.1.5 Teachers reporting such conditions shall receive a written response regarding actions taken to correct the situation within a reasonable period of time. In addition, should no action be taken, the employee will receive a written summary of findings. Whenever the employee feels that the issue has been left unresolved after receiving such notification, the employee may make a written appeal to the District’s Uniform Complaint Officer. The appeal will be reviewed by a panel of three (3) peers to be comprised of one (1) member selected by the Federation, one (1) selected by the District, and the District’s Uniform Complaint Officer. The panel will review the summary of Findings presented by the Director of Risk Management and Safety and then make a recommendation on a course of action. 15.2 It shall be the employer's responsibility to investigate employee reports as described herein and assess the physical condition reported; take appropriate action and correct unsafe conditions; follow appropriate safety condition regulations as set forth by the California Occupational Safety and Health Act; then enact Board policy and administrative regulations of the District as per contract situation. 15.3 It shall be the obligation of each employee to work in a safe manner and not create hazards. 15.4 It shall be the responsibility of any employee who is the victim of an assault, battery, physical, verbal or written threat in connection with district employment to: 15.4.1 Verbally report the incident to the principal and/or immediate supervisor at the earliest possible time. 15.4.2 Submit a written report of the incident to the principal and/or immediate supervisor at the earliest possible time. 15.5 It shall be the respo...
Employee Safety. 1. Management will initiate a comprehensive assessment of employee and patient safety in conjunction with CAO Risk Management. Upon completion of this assessment, management shall meet with the union pursuant to County Code Section 5.04.090(A). 2. The County shall make hand-held personal alarm devices available to employees working in psychiatric emergency departments in County facilities. The budget for the personal alarms shall not exceed five thousand dollars ($5,000). The budget will be used to purchase, maintain, and replace broken or damaged alarms through the term of this MOU. 3. In the event of an attack on an employee by a patient, Management shall assist with making arrangements for medical attention and counseling services. 4. In the event of an emergency relating to biohazards, communicable disease outbreak or other health threat, the Department shall notify Local 660 as soon as practicable. Upon request by the union, the Department shall meet with Local 660 within seven (7) business days to assess the impact on employees and appropriate responses and/or corrective measures.
Employee Safety. ‌ The Employer and employees recognize the need for a safe and healthful workplace and agree to take appropriate measures in order that risks of injuries and occupational disease are reduced or eliminated. Where the Employer or Occupational Health and Safety committee identifies high risk areas which expose employees to infectious or communicable diseases for which there are protective immunizations available, such immunizations shall be provided at no cost to the employee. Employees who may be exposed in the course of their employment to Hepatitis B are entitled to receive Hepatitis B vaccine free of charge. The Employer will provide orientation or in-service necessary for the safe performance of work, including the safe handling of materials and products. The Employer will also make readily available information, manuals, and procedures for these purposes. The Employer will provide appropriate safety clothing and equipment. The Employer will provide employees working in remote geographic areas with access to appropriate communication devices or processes. The Health Authorities and Providence Health Care agree to provide to employees violence prevention training based on the program that was designed by the Provincial Violence Prevention Steering Committee. Where operational requirements allow, these modules may be completed while at work. Employees on leave to attend the modules of the program that are applicable to the employee according to the program will be without loss of pay or receive straight-time regular wages while attending.
Employee Safety. A. The Board shall provide and maintain First Aid kits in work areas and vehicles and shall inspect such kits periodically. B. When an employee believes that an unsafe or unhealthy working condition exists in the work area, the employee shall immediately report the concern to his or her supervisor for direction.
