Medical Needs of Students. The District is responsible to provide an appropriate education for students with a variety of special needs, including those students with significant medically-related disabilities. These special medical needs are sometimes addressed by the District's special education programs; others must be addressed as part of the general education program. Procedures have been developed to assist District staff in addressing medically-related education needs which must be accommodated during the school day (special education intervention process, special education IEP, general education intervention process, and medically fragile health care plan procedure). When it is necessary for medically related services to be provided in the school setting, all affected staff will be provided appropriate information about the special medical needs of the student.
