Common use of Medical Treatment for Occupational Injury or Illness Clause in Contracts

Medical Treatment for Occupational Injury or Illness. Employees requiring medical attention because of job-related injury or illness shall obtain such treatment at a medical facility or from a physician designated by the City. Pursuant to the provisions of California Labor Code 4600, an employee may pre-select a personal physician prior to the occurrence of an occupational injury or illness, said selection to be filed on a form provided by the City for this purpose. In the event of an occupational injury or illness to an employee requiring immediate medical attention, the affected employee will be initially referred to the most readily available source qualified to provide the necessary assistance or treatment.
