Common use of Medicare Exception Clause in Contracts

Medicare Exception. Any retired professor, their spouse, or their registered domestic partner who becomes eligible for Medicare must apply for Medicare Part A and B. The District will subsequently continue to pay for the full cost of the group hospital and medical insurance supplemental programs provided by the District. A retiree who is personally not eligible for Medicare and whose spouse and or registered domestic partner is not eligible for Medicare shall continue to receive the group hospital and medical insurance programs provided by the District. If any time after retirement, the non-Medicare eligible professor or spouse or registered domestic partner becomes Medicare eligible, they shall apply for Medicare, and the District shall continue to pay the full cost of the group hospital and medical insurance supplemental programs provided by the District.
