Meeting Times Meetings shall be held at least quarterly, but no more than monthly, at a time that is convenient for both Parties.
Unit Weekend Schedule A unit weekend schedule may be developed in order to meet the Hospital’s need for weekend staff, and individual nurses’ preference for a weekend work schedule. A unit weekend schedule is defined as a schedule in which a full-time nurse works a weekly average of thirty (30) hours and is paid for 37.5 hours at her or his regular straight time hourly rate. The schedule must include two 11.25 hour tours, which fall within a weekend period as determined by the Hospital and the Association. A nurse working a weekend schedule will work every weekend except as provided for in the provisions below. If the Hospital and the Association agree to a unit weekend schedule, the introduction of that schedule and the manner in which the position(s) are filled, shall be determined by the local parties and recorded in the Appendix of Local Provisions. This unit schedule may be discontinued by either party with notice as determined within the Appendix of Local Provisions. The opportunity for an individual nurse to discontinue this schedule shall be resolved by the local parties:
Paid Time to Working Time Full-time employees absent on approved leave, paid by the Hospital or by the Workers' Compensation Board, shall for the purposes of computing overtime pay during the work schedule in which the absence occurred, be considered as having worked their regularly scheduled hours during such leave of absence. No pyramiding shall result from the application of this provision. The foregoing shall also apply in cases of short term leaves of absence for Union business approved by the Hospital under the applicable provisions of the Collective Agreement where payment is made to the employee by the Union.
Time Limit for Filing The parties may mutually agree in writing to extend any of the time limits set forth in this Agreement.
Starting Times Each site principal with input from the leadership team shall determine the starting times for staff members within legal requirements and exactly equal to the work day as set forth in Article 8.1.
Weekend Scheduling It is the policy of the Employer to schedule those nurses who so desire every other weekend off, with the exception of those nurses who have signed an authorization to work consecutive weekends. Nurses who have volunteered to work consecutive weekends may withdraw such authorization upon two (2) weeks’ written notice prior to the date a new schedule must be posted.
Voting Time Leave Any employee who is eligible to vote in any statewide primary or general election or at any election to fill a vacancy in the office of a representative in Congress or in the office of state senator or state representative, may absent himself/herself from work for the purpose of voting during such election day provided the employee has made prior arrangements for such absence with his/her immediate supervisor.
Starting Time is the time that employees present themselves at their work- station and not the time that employees are in the amenities or in the car park.
Overtime Lieu Time Where an employee has worked an accumulated approved overtime hours (other than overtime hours related to paid holidays) such employee shall have the option of electing payment at the applicable overtime rate or time off equivalent to the applicable overtime rate (i.e. where the applicable rate I time and one-half, then time off shall be at one and one-half times. Where an employee chooses the latter option, such time off must be taken within the succeeding two pay periods of the occurrence of the overtime at a time mutually agreeable to the Hospital and the employee, or payment in accordance with the former option shall be made. An employee shall not be required to take time off to avoid payment of overtime.
More Time Needed If the Engineer determines or reasonably anticipates that the work authorized in a work authorization cannot be completed before the specified completion date, the Engineer shall promptly notify the State. The State may, at its sole discretion, extend the work authorization period by execution of supplemental authorization, using the form attached hereto as Attachment D. Changes that would modify the scope of the work authorized in a work authorization must be enacted by a written supplemental work authorization. The Engineer must allow adequate time for the State to review and approve any request for a time extension prior to expiration of the work authorization. If the change in scope affects the amount payable under the work authorization, the Engineer shall prepare a revised work authorization budget for the State's approval.
