MERCHANT’S REGULATED ACTIVITY. If Merchant provides or operates Regulated iGaming services (as defined below) or otherwise participates in an industry for which a license or permit is required, Merchant shall provide additional documentation, licenses and demonstration of regulatory compliance. Merchant must provide Nuvei with evidence that it has obtained a government issued license for any regulated activities in every state in which Merchant offers such activity, including every state in which Receivers can access Merchant's services. In addition, Merchant may be required, from time to time, to demonstrate that each of its licenses is current and that it complies with its obligations under such licenses, including, without limitation, its obligations to: i) restrict under-aged persons’ access to such services; ii) prevent access to its services from jurisdictions where it is not specifically licensed; and iii) prevent the use of its services for the purpose of laundering money. “Regulated iGaming” means use of the internet or any similar telecommunications network to enable the staking or risking by any Receiver of something of value upon the outcome of a contest of others, a sporting event, a game subject to chance, online casino games, regulated sportsbetting or daily fantasy sports, upon an agreement or understanding that the Receiver or another Receiver will receive something of value in the event of a certain outcome.

  • Scholarly Activity The parties recognize that research and scholarly activity have always been an integral component of faculty work at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Research and scholarship inform teaching, curriculum and teaching practices, enhance the knowledge of faculty and students, and enable faculty members to remain intellectually stimulated and current in their fields. Scholarly activity is a dynamic process consisting of the following interrelated components: discovery, application, integration, teaching and learning, and creative artistry. Nothing in this provision shall be construed as increasing a faculty member’s assigned workload.
