Midnight Shift. The hours of work for those employees engaged in a shift, the major portion of which falls between 24:00 and 08:00 hours (12:00 midnight and 8:00 a.m.), will be any eight (8) consecutive hours, including adequate time off for lunch, for five (5) days per week.
Midnight Shift. A Midnight Shift differential of $0.54 per hour will be paid for any shift designated as a midnight shift in Article 4.A.3.
Midnight Shift. The standard midnight shift is from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. but the starting time may be between 10:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m.
Midnight Shift. In the event the Company introduces a midnight shift the following provisions shall apply:
Midnight Shift. Midnight shift is hereby defined as any full-time shift commencing at the hour of 10:00 p.m. or between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m., which terminates not more than twelve (12) hours after the hour of 12:00 midnight.
Midnight Shift. The Company and Union agree that if the midnight shift cannot be staffed by the current agreed process of requesting volunteers, the parties will develop a process to staff the shift based on a rotation system.
Midnight Shift. The hours of work stated in 6.01.01, 6.01.02, 6.01.03, 6.01.04, and 6.01.05 are stated solely for the purpose of calculating overtime.
Midnight Shift. The midnight shift will work the hours of 11:00PM – 7:00AM and will require that a permanent ranking supervisor be assigned to the shift. Members of this squad will not rotate to the other shifts. Assignment to this shift will be voluntary pending approval of the Chief of the UMBC Police Department. The remaining two (2) squads will alternate between the 7:00AM – 3:00PM shift and the 3:00PM – 11:00PM shift as per current practices. In the event that the midnight shift has too few volunteers, assignment will be based on seniority with those officers having the lease seniority being assigned to the midnight shift. If there are too many volunteers, assignment will be done based on seniority in that those with the most seniority will have priority with regards to the opportunity to work on the midnight shift. The feasibility of continuing a midnight shift will be based on but not limited to the following factors: increased absenteeism (sick leave and unscheduled absences), increased crime, and decreased productivity. Any changes to the current midnight shift will require written justification and a 60 day advance notice from the Chief of the UMBC Police Department.
Midnight Shift. A shift premium of sixty (60) cents per hour shall be paid each employee for hours worked during a third (or midnight) shift.
Midnight Shift. The Company and Union agree that if the midnight cannot be staffed by the current process of requesting the parties will a process to staff the shift based on a rotation system. It is the that the employee in the role of Setup as one of the backups for maintenance Setup and will asked for these backup opportunities after their regular backup (per the posting list) on shift has been asked to perform the duties.
