Common use of Military Leave Group Health Coverage Clause in Contracts

Military Leave Group Health Coverage. In instances where military leave is of more than two weeks duration, MHCD will maintain group health coverage for the duration of military leave, at the level and under the conditions that coverage would have been provided to the employee had the employee continued working and had not taken leave. MHCD requires the employee to pay the same portion of premiums as if actively employed. MHCD will provide the employee advance written notice of the terms and conditions under which these payments must be made. MHCD may recover from the employee the employee portion of premiums MHCD paid, if any, for maintaining group health coverage for an employee during leave if the employee fails to return from leave, unless it is beyond the control of the employee, e.g., serious health condition.
