Military Leaves. 1. Short Term Military Leaves of Absence (Reserve or National Guard Duty)--Less Than 90 Days Per Calendar Year
a. Subject to the terms and conditions provided in subsections 1.b. through 1.d. of this Article, below, employees shall be entitled to time off with pay when they are required to take a leave of absence for: (i) military training duty and/or (ii) military duty in the State of Wisconsin because of riot or civil disturbance.
Military Leaves. Employees are entitled to military leave as provided by state and federal laws and board policy and regulations.
Military Leaves. Military leave without pay shall be granted to an academic staff member:
a) where the academic staff member's services are required by the Canadian Department of National Defense to meet a civil emergency - for the duration of the emergency; or
b) where during a national emergency an academic staff member is required to serve in the Canadian Armed Forces - for the duration of the emergency
Military Leaves. Employees who leave the school district in order to serve in any branch of the armed services of the United States shall be granted a leave and their reinstatement after such service shall be in accordance with the Universal Military Training Act as amended and other applicable laws and regulations.

Long-Term Military Leaves Military leaves of absence without salary or benefits shall be granted to any L'Anse Creuse teacher who shall be inducted for a tour of military duty to any branch of the armed forces of the United States. Upon returning to the L'Anse Creuse Public Schools, a teacher who has been on military leave shall be given the benefit of any new increments up to five (5) years which would have been credited to him/her had he/she remained in active employment with the L'Anse Creuse Public Schools, provided the teacher returns to L'Anse Creuse Public Schools as soon as a position for which he/she is certified becomes available after discharge from military service.

Military Leaves. Time spent on military leave (not to exceed four (4) years unless otherwise provided by statute) will be used in computing continuous service for longevity only.

The provision of the Uniformed Service Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA) shall prevail for all aspects of military leave including request for and return from such leave. The employee must give notice to the employer of need to leave his/her job for service in the uniformed services unless giving notice is precluded by military necessity. Employees must notify the employer of the their intent to return to work as required by law. USSERRA will be the prevailing Act for purposes of military leave unless it is superseded by other legislation.
Military Leaves. All military leaves, and the reinstatement rights of any employee who enters the military service of the United States shall be determined in accordance with the applicable laws and Federal regulations.
