Common use of Minimum Wage Guarantee Clause in Contracts

Minimum Wage Guarantee. A. To reflect the University’s and WFSE’s shared values, the base salary for represented permanent employees in salary ranges with steps below fifteen dollars ($15) per hour, probationary employees will be placed two (2) steps below the salary step that most closely approximates fifteen dollars ($15) per hour. Following successful completion of probation, the employee will be set at the step in the range that most closely approximates fifteen dollars ($15) per hour, not to exceed Step L. B. Any employee who has a permanent assigned duty station within a local jurisdiction which has passed an ordinance establishing a minimum wage higher than the minimum wage established in this Agreement, will be paid no less than the minimum wage directed by the local ordinance. The University will place the employee on a step in the assigned salary range that is equal to or more than the wage requirement of the local ordinance.
