More data needed. More data would be useful for determining the impact of teaming on practice in two areas: 1) Management of children under 2 months. Since one of the objectives of teaming is to improve the management of children 0-2 months of age – more data on this age group could be collected from community registers, during on-going teaming assessments. Key data includes, PNC visits at 24 hours, 2, 3 and 7 days, and the number of sick children 0-2 months seen, referred and completing referral; and 2) The baseline household survey reports that 38% of children had a suspected severe illness in the previous 2 month – a very high proportion. Survey screening questions for severity of illness included: "looks very unwell/not playing well" or "red swollen eyes/discharge" – suggesting that the current variable in not very specific for severe illness. The variable needs to be re-calculated by removing some non-specific signs and focusing on those more strongly associated with severity. This is important in order to better estimate referral rates for severe illness before and after the teaming intervention.
